While traditional metal storage bins are sturdy, they can easily scratch products, whereas ordinary plastic bins often lack dust protection and make it difficult to customize internal dividers. Stackable fabric-bag racks—also known as canvas racks or flexible storage carts—are a practical warehousing solution designed specifically to address these pain points. Combining the load-bearing capacity of a metal frame with the protective properties of flexible fabric bags, they are particularly suitable for industries with high standards for cleanliness and surface quality, such as automotive parts, precision machining, and electronics assembly. The most critical feature is the bottom design, which incorporates standard forklift pockets. This design allows for two-way or four-way fork entry, meaning that operators can quickly insert forks from any convenient direction—whether using a manual hydraulic pallet jack or an electric forklift—to move the load. The base is also typically equipped with reinforcing ribs to ensure that the rack will not deform even under full load during long-term use, thereby guaranteeing the smooth operation of mechanized handling.

External Dust-Proof Bag Covering System

Unlike exposed metal mesh cages, this rack is fully covered on the outside with an industrial-grade coated fabric, also known as PVC-coated mesh fabric or heavy-duty canvas. This material is abrasion-resistant, tear-resistant, and easy to clean.

To meet the requirements of multi-level storage, protruding stacking corners have been designed at the four corners of the frame’s top. The positions of these stacking corners have been precisely calculated to fit perfectly into the load-bearing points of the frame on the lower shelf. According to design specifications, this shelf supports safe stacking up to three levels high. This design not only maximizes the use of vertical space but also ensures the stability of the stack, preventing tipping accidents caused by a shift in the center of gravity.

Maximizing Space Utilization: Compared to standard carts that cannot be stacked, the three-tier stackable design triples storage capacity while occupying the same floor space. For line-side warehouses where space is at a premium, this directly frees up valuable production floor space.

Loading Flexibility: The internal fabric bag partitions are typically connected via flexible joints and offer a certain degree of elasticity. This means they can accommodate workpieces with slightly larger dimensional tolerances, or the fabric bags can be folded and compressed when not in use to reduce the volume during return shipping of empty containers.

Reduced Packaging Costs: Since the product racks themselves provide dust and scratch protection, companies can often eliminate the need for additional disposable packaging materials—such as blister trays, foam inserts, or bubble wrap—during use, which significantly reduces the logistics packaging costs per unit in the long run.

Ergonomic Optimization: The height of the parts racks is typically designed to be ergonomic, allowing workers to easily retrieve parts from the top or middle shelves while standing, without having to bend over excessively or climb, thereby reducing physical strain.

Operating Procedures and Safety Precautions

To ensure the service life of the material rack and maintain operational safety, please follow these operating procedures during use:

Strictly Limit Stacking Height: Although the design allows for three-tier stacking, this limit must be strictly adhered to in practice. Exceeding three tiers will place excessive weight on the bottom pallet, which may cause the frame to deform or the bags to rupture; additionally, excessively high stacks will obstruct visibility, increasing the risk of collisions during forklift operations.

Principle of Even Loading: When placing products on the shelves, ensure that the weight is distributed evenly across each compartment to avoid uneven loading. Uneven loading can easily cause the rack to tilt or even result in goods sliding off, especially during forklift handling.

Forklift Operating Guidelines: When entering or exiting a forklift bay, the forklift operator should control the vehicle’s speed, align the forklift with the bay, and insert it slowly to avoid violent impacts with the base that could cause welds to crack. It is recommended to ensure that the forks are inserted to a depth of at least two-thirds of the rack’s depth before lifting.

Environmental Adaptability Inspection: Although the filter bags are designed to prevent dust, if they are exposed to extremely humid conditions or highly corrosive gases, they must be inspected regularly for signs of mold or coating peeling. If necessary, replace them with filter bags made of special materials.

Maintenance and Full Lifecycle Management

As a reusable logistics tool, proper maintenance can extend its service life:

Cleaning and Replacing Filter Bags: The external dust-proof filter bags are consumables. If the surface becomes too heavily soiled with oil to be cleaned, or if the bags are damaged, there is no need to scrap the entire material rack. On most high-quality material racks, the filter bags are secured to the frame with Velcro or hooks, allowing them to be removed and replaced individually. Companies should maintain a stock of spare parts and rotate and clean the bags regularly to keep the equipment looking neat and tidy.

Frame Inspection: Metal frames should be inspected once every quarter, with particular attention paid to checking for cracks in the welds of the forklift openings at the bottom and for severe wear on the stacking corners at the top. If any structural damage is discovered, use of the frame must be immediately suspended and welding repairs performed to prevent safety incidents.

Storage When Not in Use: When production line adjustments result in idle material racks, it is recommended to stack them neatly and store them in a dry, well-ventilated area to prevent direct sunlight from causing the fabric bags to age and become brittle. If there is extra space inside the bags, fold them neatly to prevent dust accumulation.
