EPE foam features a closed-cell structure that delivers excellent cushioning, water resistance, and thermal insulation. Lightweight, non-toxic, and fully recyclable, it effectively addresses the brittleness and environmental concerns associated with traditional foams. However, EPE exhibits limited heat resistance, mechanical strength, and weatherability, and is inherently flammable. Additionally, its high post-foaming volume increases logistics costs, while its higher price relative to EPS diminishes cost-effectiveness in applications where environmental compliance is not mandatory.
