EPP offers outstanding shock absorption, shape-memory recovery, and high specific strength for lightweight durability, plus stability from –40 °C to 130 °C, oil/chemical resistance, and negligible water absorption. It is 100% recyclable, non-toxic, and provides effective acoustic/thermal insulation, supporting sustainable manufacturing and carbon neutrality. |

| Where the material stops being the right answer: below roughly 300 units a year the tooling cannot pay for itself, and for a part with a 1 mm machined lip we would rather propose a cut PE insert. We say that before quoting, because an insert that fails in month two costs more than the tooling ever did. |
![]() | Inside the plant the insert sits in a standard HP crate or a steel stillage, and it is usually the frame rather than another part that does the damage. We measure the clearance between insert and frame before the tool is cut, so the foam takes the contact instead of the casting. | ![]() |
